The EMA2 is a co-operation and mobility scheme in the area of higher education co-operation launched by Europe Aid cooperation Office and implemented by the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
The Erasmus Mundus Action 2 (EMA2) objective is to enhance the mobility of researchers, students and academic staff between the higher education institutions (HEIs) from EU and from HEIs from Third Countries. It aims at achieving better understanding and mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries co-operation in the field of higher education through promoting the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level. This will be achieved through the promotion of partnerships and institutional co-operation exchanges between European Higher Education Institutions and Third Country institutions and a mobility scheme addressing student and academic exchanges.
The University of Göttingen is involved in total 26 EMA2 partnerships, and in eight of them (EXPERTS, EXPERTS II, ALRAKIS, MARCOXXI, EXPERTS III, ALRAKIS II, NAMASTE, EXPERTS4Asia) Göttingen is the Coordinator.

University of Göttingen - Erasmus Mundus Global Partnerships (Action 2)
We are glad to announce that the Georg-August-University of Göttingen has been selected for different Erasmus Mundus Action 2 projects by the EACEA. The University of Göttingen will be Coordinator of the projects NAMASTE and EXPERTS4Asia, as well as Partner University in an additional 5 projects: AREAS+, Lotus unlimited, INTERWEAVE, SALAM and TIMUR.
NAMASTE (Networking and Mobility Actions for Sustainable Technology and Environment in India) is a brand new programme between EU-Partners and different universities and institutes in India.
EXPERTS4Asia (Exchange by Promoting Quality Education, Research and Training in South and South-East Asia) is the continuation of the awarded and successful EXPERTS projects of the past years. The incoming, as well as outgoing mobilities are arranged between several EU-Partners and in coordination with different universities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Maldives.
