| Beschreibung | The EU Office at the University of Göttingen will offer a workshop on "European Research Council (ERC) - EU-Funding for Advanced Researchers and for ERC Synergy Grants" on Wednesday, 6 March 2019, from 10:00 s.t. to 11:45 a.m. in the meeting room (1st floor) at Von-Siebold-Straße 4, 37075 Göttingen. The ERC’s mission is to promote the highest quality research in Europe by offering ERC-funding schemes that are "investigator-driven" or "bottom-up". ERC projects allow researchers a great degree of flexibility and substantial funding to pursue new directions in all fields of research. In open competition ERC grants are awarded to projects headed by starting and established researchers, irrespective of their origins. The sole criterion is scientific excellence. Research advisors from the EU Office at the University of Göttingen will explain the ERC-funding schemes for ERC Advanced Grants and ERC Synergy Grants, give details on how to submit a proposal and on how to become an ERC expert. Further, Prof. Dr. Klaus-Armin Nave, Dept. of Neurogenetics, MPI Experimental Medicine, will offer insight based on his firsthand experiences as an ERC Advanced Grantee and as an ERC Expert Reviewer. Presentations will be held in English. Researchers of all academic disciplines with at least 12 years of experience after receiving a PhD are invited to attend.
