Young leaders' lunch

You are a junior research group leader or junior professor at the Göttingen Campus and want to become more confident in your leadership role? You would like to share challenges and insights with peers in similar situations? You would like to enhance your leadership competencies while integrating the learning process into your daily routines rather than setting aside two or more days for leadership training?

This monthly 90-minute lunch meeting is an opportunity for junior research group leaders and junior professors at the Göttingen Campus to reflect on their individual leadership style and exchange their perspectives with peers. Participants can bring any leadership-related issue that they would like support for, share or discuss with peers.

Potential topics might be:

  • setting priorities and boundaries
  • delegating tasks
  • giving and receiving feedback
  • motivating team members
  • identifying one's individual leadership style
  • dealing with conflicts in your team
  • hiring new team members

The format of the lunch can be adapted according to the issues participants bring. Potential formats might be peer coaching, plenary discussion, small group work, or even short presentations. The meetings will be facilitated by Dr. Kerstin Mauth who will support the group in identifying the appropriate format and provide the according methods.

The format comprises eight lunch meetings in total. Participants register once before the first meeting and will form a fixed group who meets every third Monday between April and December 2016 (excluding summer holidays).
