PhD studies

We offer PhD studies in a broad range of Soil Science disciplines:
soil ecology, soil biogeochemistry, soil biology, soil-plant-microbial interactions, soil genesis ...
We investigate cycles of C, N, P and some other elements in various ecosystems.
The most studies are focused on processes and mechanisms and
are based on application of stable and radioactive isotopes.

We offer regularly PhD positions (usually shortly after a research proposal was funded).

However, if there are no open PhD positions at the moment and
if you are interested to make PhD in Soil Science do the following:

• check the ongoing projects and evaluate which topics are most closest to your scientific interests
  
• think, how you can contribute to project of your choice
  
• check a broad range of fellowships, and chose which are more suitable for your special case (education, age, country, etc.)
  
• contact the person responsible for the project of your interest and discuss your ideas concerning:
  - experiments
  - financing
  - time schedule of next steps.
  

Do it in advance: at least half year before you will start the PhD study.
