Oil and social Change in Niger and Chad

Ein anthropologisches Kooperationsforschungsprojekt zu Technologien, Bedeutung und Prozessen kreativer Anpassung in Bezug auf die afrikanische Ölförderung

Das Projekt ist als Folgeprojekt zum Projekt "Significations of oil and social change in Niger and Chad" (2011-13) konzipiert. Es trägt denselben Titel und zielt darauf ab, die Arbeit und die Ergebnisse der ersten Projektphase in empirischer und theoretischer Hinsicht zu vervollständigen, zu ergänzen und weiterzuentwickeln. Das Projektteam hat vorgeschlagen, eine eindeutig anthropologische Perspektive auf die sozialen Transformationen zu entwickeln, die derzeit in den neu entstehenden Ölstaaten Afrikas beobachtet werden können. Diese spezifisch anthropologische Perspektive besteht aus vier Schlüsselelementen des Forschungsaufbaus. Erstens ein methodischer Schwerpunkt auf der Echtzeitbeobachtung sozialer Situationen und Ereignisse, wie sie sich in der frühen Phase der Bildung eines Ölstaates und seiner Industrie entfalten; daher die Wahl von Niger und Tschad als junge afrikanische Ölstaaten; zweitens ein theoretischer Schwerpunkt auf Prozessen sozialer und politischer Interaktion zwischen verschiedenen sozialen Kategorien und Gruppen, durch die Ordnung und Bedeutungen produziert werden; drittens ein ebenso theoretischer Schwerpunkt auf den Kernkonzepten des PP (insbesondere Bedeutung, Kreativität, Übersetzung, Anpassung, (Un-)Ordnung und Technologie), die dazu beitragen, bisher wenig beachtete Phänomene und Prozesse im Zusammenhang mit Öl in den Blick zu nehmen; viertens ein organisatorischer Fokus auf die Zusammenarbeit und den engen Austausch des deutschen Forschungsteams (aus drei Instituten der Afrika-orientierten Anthropologie) mit Partnern aus Frankreich, Niger und Tschad. Ein ausdrücklicher Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Förderung des afrikanischen und deutschen wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses.
