What is the future of global mobility?

Migration, new types of expatriates, career and talent management, new trends in methodology and the future of digitalization were only some of the topics discussed during the workshop "The Future of Global Mobility" on 6 March 2020 in the Göttingen University Historic Observatory.

Around 40 established and emerging scholars discussed the state of the art and developed ideas for future research on global mobility. The workshop was organized by the Chair of Human Resources Management and Asian Business of the Faculty of Business and Economics (Prof. Dr. Dr. Fabian J. Froese) and the Western Europe Chapter of the Academy of International Business (AIB). The AIB is the leading association of scholars and specialists in the field of international business and international policy.

Keynote speakers were Guenter Stahl, Sebastian Reiche, Dries Faems and Jaime Bonache who shared their personal experiences and gave presentations on their research. In five parallel interactive paper sessions, participants presented their paper ideas and received in-depth feedback from colleagues. Afterwards, future research directions in global mobilty research were identified in five discussion groups.
