SIA - characteristics and aims


  • Master of Science; 4 semesters, joint degree from the Universities of Goettingen and Kassel
  • Internationality is a key concept of the programme and
  • all courses are taught in English


Modules are offered as:


  • lectures, seminars, practices, E-Learning, project modules
  • day-trips and up to 2-week study tours


Study-cooperation or joint study programmes exist with:


  • Talca (Chile; Goettingen)
  • Bogor (Indonesia; Goettingen)


Moreover: Visits to partner universities worldwide in the context of international study tours.

Aims


The SIA study program shall contribute to the sustainable production of agricultural commodities and food security at specific locations and in an international context. SIA students will be enabled to:

  • Understand the ecological interactions of natural and agrarian systems in a global context,

  • Acquire up-to-date knowledge in natural and socio-economic sciences,

  • Obtain social and methodical skills,

  • Apply the acquired knowledge and skills in an international context concerning (organic) agriculture

  • In order to participate in the world-wide development of resource-efficient agricultural production.
