The Research Training Group 1023 was founded in 2004 at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Göttingen and is supported by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). Its dissertation projects are concerned with identification problems in mathematical models as they occur in partial differential equations, image processing, kernel based learing algorithms and geostatistics, and combine the potentials of modern methods from statistics and numerical analysis for their solution.
