The Organs of the Foundation University
The Georgia Augusta has been an independent foundation under public law since January 1, 2003. This means legal independence for the University from the state and therefore more self-regulation.
The Presidential Board is composed of 5 members. It has departmental responsibility, directs the University on its own accord and manages the day-to-day business of the foundation exclusively pertaining to the University. It is responsible for the University and all strategic and operative decisions.
Management Board Medical School
The Board of Directors University Medicine is composed of 3 members. It takes the place of the Presidential Board in matters pertaining to University Medicine; it directs University Medicine and manages the day-to-day business of the Foundation. It is responsible for University Medicine and all strategic and operative decisions.
The Foundation Council advises the University in matters concerning the entire University, including University Medicine. The Foundation Council decides on matters of general importance for the Foundation, including University Medicine.
University Foundation Committee
This committee advises the University, decides on foundation matters of fundamental importance exclusively pertaining to the University and also supervises the Presidential Board.
Medical School Foundation Committee
This committee decides on foundation matters of fundamental importance exclusively pertaining to University Medicine and also supervises the Board of Directors.
