This course addresses all employees of the university, who want to manage courses with Stud.IP. No previous experience with Stud.IP is required. You will learn about the following functions of Stud.IP:

  • How to manage courses: enter basic data and manage access rights (open registration for events)
  • Times & rooms, edit schedules
  • Appoint tutors, create groups
  • Manage files and file folders, manage file folder permissions
  • Send messages to participants
  • Create announcements

This workshop is designed to introduce to the basics functions and some didactic applications of various tools in Stud.IP. After a short introduction and some practice, we will develop and discuss possible didactic scenarios.

We will deal with the Forum and Blubber to activate and support students, Stud.IP-Wikis for knowledge management in courses, Stud.IPad for collaborative text writing, as well as DoIT - a tool for exercises on a regular basis and peer review.

This training can also be designed to your needs and problems.

This course is for Stud.IP administrators, who want to refresh their knowledge about Stud.IP and for all employees of the University of Göttingen, who are taking over Stud.IP administration for a faculty or institution. Previous experience with Stud.IP is required for this course.

In this course you will learn how to create users, how to manage institutions and courses (access authorization and configuration of modules). You will also learn how synchronization with UniVZ works.

Would you like your students to work on case studies, basic knowledge or additional materials on their own? Or do you want to offer your students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the subject? In that case interactive learning modules created with the tool ILIAS might be right for you. In this training you will learn the basics of this system and create your own learning module (including self-study questions). We will also show you the possibilities that ILIAS already offers you today. You will get ideas through examples, application possibilities and tips for didactical meaningful use in teaching. We offer a separate course on the preparation of e-examinations.

Would you like your students to check their acquired knowledge in self-tests? Would you like to offer your students additional options for self-examination? In this case, tests created with the tool ILIAS might be right for you. In this training you will learn the basics of this system and create your own question pool and various tests. We will show you the different types of questions and their possibilities in detail, as well as different types of tests. You will get suggestions through our examples, application possibilities and tips for didactical meaningful use in teaching. We offer a separate course on the preparation of e-examinations.

If simple learning modules and tests are not enough for you, we would like to invite you to this training for advanced users of ILIAS, where we will show you slightly more complex options of ILIAS. We will practice their usage together and work out ways to use exercises for peer-review or to use stylesheets to give your learning modules a different appearance. Prerequisite for this training is, that you have either taken part in “Introduction to ILIAS: creating learning modules” or have longer experience with using ILIAS. Please bring your own laptop!

Do your students have to hand in exercise sheets regularly? Or do you want your students to give each other feedback on a regular basis? In this training, we practice how to use the exercise tool for peer-review and (if you have already created learning modules) how the exercise tool can be integrated into your learning module, to support the learning process of your students.

Your students have to learn a lot of technical terms and you want to support them? Do you want to make your learning module more be used as a reference tool? In this training you will learn how to create a glossary, how to further develop it with your students and link it with an existing learning module. In addition you will learn how to provide the glossary terms to your students to support them in their learning process.

This training will teach you how to create an e-portfolio with ILIAS and how to support students to document their learning process, reflect them or present these with a portfolio. Within the training we will also talk about linking e-portfolios with learning modules and try out how both elements work together.

This training is a technical introduction to the e-examination system ILIAS. It is aimed at lecturers, who are preparing a concrete e-examination project, have already had a first consultation with the E-Learning-Service about organizational matters but have no experience with creating exams or exam questions in the learning management system ILIAS (connected to Stud.IP). During this course participants will receive their access data for the e-examination system and will be able to familiarize themselves with the available types of questions as well as with creating courses, exams and question pools in order to be able to create their own examinations afterwards.

Finding the right questions for an exam is not easy – regardless if the exam is paper-based or an e-exam.

In this short workshop we will work on this subject and especially deal with the following aspects:

  • different questions types
  • developing exam questions based on the learning goals of the respective course (or module)
  • special characteristics of e-examinations (at the university of Göttingen in general as well as at the Univerisity Medical Center Göttingen

Smartphones and tablets are now widely used by students and are ideal for use in academic teaching. In this workshop you will get to know two in-house developments mVote and GoeTours and other apps, which can be used in lectures and seminars. With these apps you can extend your learning scenarios and offer, for example. responsive feedback questions and competitions in lectures, develop a tour out of specific learning content for an excursion or use the camera of the devices for case presentations.

As a result of internationalization and networking between university-level institutions in Germany and abroad, there is a growing need to be able to perform courses, disputations, conferences etc. online. In Göttingen the tool Adobe Connect is often used for thispurpose. Even if this system seems to be easy to use, teachers need a certain amount of know-how about planning and implementing interesting and didactically complete webinars. They can gain this know-how by taking part in the next eCULT-moderation training. They can practice this work in virtual space on four separate dates.
