Tuition fee allocation in summer semester 2010

The new plans for allocating tuition fees for summer semester 2010 at Göttingen University were chiefly set down by resolution of the study committee, faculty council and/or Presidential Board.

Approximately € 12 million are to be disposed of this winter semester: € 7 million of this are new revenues earned from current tuition fees for the winter semester and € 5 million are funds from the previous semesters that were or could not be utilized. Explanations for the non-use of funds include posts that were not filled or measures that could not be implemented for organizational reasons. Nevertheless, the funds shall be implemented as soon as possible in measures that contribute to improving teaching quality and studying in general.

In particular, plans for the summer semester envision measures aimed at improving teaching quality and developing degree programmes by hiring new academic staff, as well as building up academic advisory services and general student support services.
