Dynamics and non-equilibrium states of randomly cross-linked block copolymer melts

Combining analytic theory, simulation and experiment we will investigate the interplay between non-equilibrium chain conformations, self-assembly of block copolymers, and mechanical properties. Two prototypical scenarios will be considered: (i) frozen chain topology by crosslinking and (ii) deformed chain conformations due to mechanical stretching. These model systems will provide insights how constrained, non-equilibrium conformations modify the free-energy landscape and thereby impact mechanical properties and structure formation.
