Description

This course provides an overview over critical issues in development economics at the graduate level. The course will first focus on conceptualising and measuring development, after which macroeconomic perspectives will be considered. Thereafter the course will shift to microeconomic perspectives and will investigate issues of health, education, credit, and insurance. The last part of the course will then examine the political economy of development.
