Collaborative Research - Collaborative Research Centres

There is a two-stage application process for Collaborative Research Centres (CRC): Firstly, you are required to submit a draft proposal, followed by a preliminary review session at the DFG Head Office. If your preliminary review is recommended, the university is invited to submit a full written proposal. All full written proposals are reviewed on site over a period of two days. The initial funding period lasts 4 years, with the option to submit renewal proposals for a maximum of 12 years.

There is no submission deadline; applications are invited at any time. The project starts each year on 1 January or 1 July. The various internal university departments and committees should be consulted prior to submitting draft research proposals to the German Research Foundation (DFG).

We offer advice for all your enquiries concerning project proposals, applications and completion.
