Gabriela Ryser worked as a Ph.D. student in the junior research group 2 “Education at the Crossroads: Pagan, Jewish, and Christian Discourses in Late Antiquity“ at the Courant Research Centre EDRIS from October 2010 to December 2015.

She studied Latin Language and Literature, English Linguistics, and Greek Language and Literature at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). Her Master Thesis examined Pliny the Younger’s corpus of epistles with special emphasis on linguistic similarities between Books 1-9 and Book 10. After a stay in Ireland, Ms Ryser completed her training as a grammar school teacher of Latin and English at Fribourg University.
