A smart card is issued for a person or group which neither works for the University nor is a student, but needs a smart card. Persons and groups involved might be guest scholars, Ph.D. students, scholarship holders or free-lance workers who will be issued a smart card for a limited time in order to be able to avail themselves of such University services as e.g. the use of the Library or to gain regular access to a building.
