New in Göttingen as of July 2012: Prof. Dr. Dr. Fabian Jintae Froese
As of July 1, 2012, Prof. Dr. Dr. Fabian Jintae Froese is the new professor for Human Resources Management and Asian Business at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Göttingen. The faculty has established the new professorship.
Prof. Froese strengthens the focus Management of the faculty. He offers courses in the Master’s programme Management in particular as well as in other business Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes of the faculty. Furthermore, he is an associated researcher of the Centre of Modern East Asia Studies (CeMEAS) of Göttingen University. His research interests lie in the fields of international human resources management, intercultural management and East Asian economies.
After studying Business Administration with emphasis on International Management, Organizational Psychology and East Asia Studies at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim, Fabian Froese switched to the University of St. Gallen for his doctoral studies. In 2007, he received his doctoral degree with his dissertation "The Integration Management of Foreign Acquisitions in South Korea and Japan“. Two years later, Prof. Froese was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Sociology at the Waseda University in Tokyo for his dissertation "Convergence of work values in Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai? Cross-country and intergenerational comparisons”.
Before accepting the Chair of Human Resources Management in Göttingen, Fabian Froese was tenure-track Assistant Professor of International Business at the Korea University in Seoul from 2007 to 2012. During this time, he was also invited as visiting research scholar by the Universities of Tokyo and Kobe. Into the bargain, Prof. Froese worked for banks and consultancy firms in Singapure, Shanghai and Tokyo, won numerous research awards and is referee for several different international scientific journals.
