The Concept

The Team Teaching-Program of the GGG consists of two key elements: teaching practice and didactic training.

It is possible to hold the lecture either in German or in English. However, the comprehensive classes are mostly held in German and therefore require a proper understanding of German. But, given a demand and a critical mass separate classes in English will also be offered.

For both the PhD-student and the experienced teacher, the teaching practice element comprises the organization and preparation of the seminar as well as its joint performance in a Teaching Team.

The didactic training includes the participation of the PhD-students in a qualification program with 60 units of work (à 45 min.). This program consists of the following elements:

• a workshop about the fundamentals of teaching and learning in higher education (including a follow-up after the end of the lecture period)
• a workshop about how to lead groups
• a workshop about academic examination
• visit of a colleague's lecture, seminar, class etc.
• two short practical feedback conversations to reflect current teaching situations
• as well as a voluntarily selectable workshop according to individual requirements

For the participating experienced teachers, it is possible to discuss central aspects of the TeamTeaching as well as experiences of challenging teaching situations with their colleagues in a structured exchange based on the didactic guidance.
In addition, an opening and closing event will form the contextual and organizational framework of the Team Teaching-Program.
