Jing Hao

When reading a book of Ji Xianlin, a prominent Chinese linguist and historian, I heard about the University of Göttingen for the first time. In his book, he described the time he spent in Göttingen and how much he enjoyed and loved it, which was one of the main reasons that I decided to study here.

What I love the most about Göttingen is its coziness; no hustle and bustle of a big city. And it is no doubt an excellent place for studying. There is no “wall” dividing the campus from the city: The entire city is basically a comprehensive university with students are from all over the world. It is really fascinating to meet friends with various cultural backgrounds.

The only thing people may complain about is the plain German food. But no worries, there are several very decent Asian shops in the city and you can always find amazing restaurants there as well. When the weather is nice, meeting friends in one of the lovely cafes or biking around the city are my favorite activities.

Educational background: Bachelor in Technology English, Tianjin University Renai College, Student of the Erasmus Mundus Master programme “Euroculture”
