Antonín Kalous, Ph.D., M.A.

Visiting guest in January 2013, Euroculture public lecture series "European Identity in the Wider World"

Antonín Kalous was a guest speaker at the Euroculture lectures series "European Identity in the Wider World." He gave a presentation entitled "Renaissance in Europe: Inspiration-Interpretation-Identity."
Dr. Kalous is the Director of Studies of Euroculture Erasmus Mundus Programme at the Department of History (Palacký University), where he is also teaching medieval history. He is also the vice-dean for international relation at the Faculty of Arts.
Dr. Kalous studied at Palacký University, Olomouc (Department of History, Mgr.) and at Central European University (Department of Medieval Studies, M.A.). He obtained his PhD in History from the University of Olomouc in 2005. His research interests include medieval and early Renaissance history in general, with the specialisation in later Middle Ages, social, political, church and cultural history.
