Ideas Competition for Students 2013

New call for proposals! - »Seize opportunities! Moving from studies to work«

This year we count on your ideas until the closing date on 24th May 2013. The best ideas can win cash prizes of up to 1,000 euro.

The University aims to develop students' skills in order to help them in the process of finding a career. At the same time, it is hoped that the development both of plans for the future and confidence in one's own skills will also provide motivation for a successful academic degree.

One focus while on a degree programme obtaining university qualifications should above all be on strengthening and promoting the potential vocational qualifications of students.

During and especially towards the end of their studies the aim is to support students in making a successful transition from studies to work on the basis of their individual interests and abilities and the demands of professional life.

We are looking for ideas about teaching and learning, which consider the multiplicity of ways of preparing for working life.

The University warmly invites its students to submit proposals for positive measures and new campaigns to the IDEAS COMPETITION 2013 with the slogan »Seize opportunities! Moving from studies to work«.

You can win cash prizes and non-cash prizes worth a total of 3,000 euros!

The Ideas Competition is being held under the aegis of the Vice President for Teaching and Learning, Professor Dr. Wolfgang Lücke.

  • How can the University support the vocational interests and abilities of students?
  • What is the practical orientation like and how can it be improved if necessary?
  • What guidance can we offer for individuals who are considering their future?
  • How can we organise exchanges with potential employers?
  • How can the demands of professional life and issues relating to starting a career be conveyed interestingly?

  • Please note: neither comments or complaints without concrete proposals for solutions nor improvements that are already in development will be counted as entries to the Ideas Competition.

Why not seize the opportunity and contribute your ideas?
The contest is open to individuals and teams. Please explain your proposal / idea briefly.
For example, this might involve the following topics:
  • How can the existing interests, abilities, knowledge and skills of all students be supported in a way that offers better qualifications for a career?
  • How can services, advice and guidance be intensified or the contents improved?
  • How should they be organised?
  • How can the contents of the curricula and university degree programmes aid and assist students, e.g. with special courses and subjects?
  • How can self-confidence and self-awareness contribute to choosing a profession?

  • Terms of participation and deadline for entries
