Studying Internationally: In Göttingen and Abroad

Approximately 12 percent of all the students in Göttingen come from abroad. The percentage is even 20 among first semester students. The traditional student city in Lower Saxony has an international face. Within the scope of the ERASMUS program of the European Union, the University has been cooperating for twenty years already with approximately 300 partner universities. Göttingen is a member of the Coimbra Group (since 1987), an association of 37 traditional universities (some examples: University of Bologna, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Uppsala) and the U4-Network. There has also been close cooperation with the University of Nanjing since 1984. Various cooperations with other Chinese, Japanese, and Corean universities and others have existed for years. These exchange possibilities are also used by many Göttingen students.
