The University of Göttingen is well known as an international research university which emphasizes international cooperation. Establishing and fostering worldwide networks is part of the international program as is hiring international professors; active agreements with institutions of higher education in more than 70 countries provide proof of the University’s international status. Many aspects contribute to this status, including the introduction of Bachelor and Master courses of studies, as well as international Ph.D. programs and integrating study abroad into curricula, developing international courses of study taught in English and integrating international scholars into teaching.
