A wide choice at low cost: the Göttingen Student Services offer about 5,000 residential units. The private housing market is also geared to student budgets: rents in Göttingen are considerably lower than in other comparable university towns.
Students who register their main residence in Göttingen will also benefit from "Aktion Heimspiel" (home match campaign), which offers students living in Göttingen more than eighty different types of rebates and discounts for all major cultural events and institutions.
Please note: even prior to the start of courses, you may already have your name put on the waiting list (without obligation) for a place in the Student Services halls of residence. At this stage, evidence of application for and enrolment in a degree programme at Göttingen University is not yet required.
