Admission requirements for the Single and Joint Honours MA "Finno-Ugrian Studies" (78/ 42 C)


  • B.A. degree or equivalent degree
  • Verfication required for
    a) academic achievement in Finno-Ugrian Studies or Uralic Studies comprising at least 60 credits, including at least 8 credits in the form of basic active knowledge in a second Finno-Ugrian language, or
    b) academic achievement in Estonian, Finnish or Hugarian Studies comprising at least 60 credits, including at least 24 credits in Finno-Ugrian Studies or Uralic Studies as well at least 8 credits in the form of basic active knowledge of a second Finno-Ugrian language.

  • Language requirements:
    Applicants must possess knowledge of the Estonian, Finnish or Hungarian language including comprehensive knowledge of the grammatical structure of the respective language, as well as comprehension of texts of medium difficulty, and be able to communicate in complex discussions, and on topics from selected areas of regional and cultural studies.
    Proof is to be furnished by presenting evidence of successfully completed language courses at universities, if available, or by a university entrance qualification certificate from a school where the respective language is the language of instruction.
