Maria Goeppert Mayer Professorships
As part of the Maria Goeppert Mayer Programme of the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture, guest professorships and teaching assignments are funded for international gender research.
The programme is named in honour of the Nobel laureate in Physics, Maria Goeppert Mayer, (1906-1972) who came from Göttingen.
It addresses all areas of academic interest, especially those showing shortcomings and perceived necessities in the area of Women’s and Gender Studies.
Applications for allocating guest professorships and teaching assignments can be addressed to the MWK, Referat 22. Universities are usually expected to provide one quarter of the costs applied for.
