Lectures and participation in "Nacht des Wissens" (Night of Science)

Game theory, healthy or unhealthy food, and confused consumers: academics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences are conducting lectures and participating in the third "Nacht des Wissens" (Night of Science) on Saturday, 21 January 2017.

From 5 PM to midnight, the Chair of Marketing, with a focus on consumer behavior (Prof. Dr. YaseminBoztuğ), will be hosting an activity and experiment titled "Gesund oder lecker: Wie entscheiden wir uns für Lebensmittel?" (Health or flavour: how do we choose food?). The event takes place in ZHG 006 (Platz der Göttinger Sieben 5, Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude), is suitable for both children and adults, and will take place in English and German.

From 8 PM to midnight, Dr. Alexia Gaudeul, a member of the Chair of Microeconomics (Prof. Dr. Claudia Keser) will have a stand at the Foyer of the Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude (ZHG). She will engage visitors in discussions about whether companies should be allowed to deliberately confuse consumers for the sake of profit making.

Prof. Dr. Claudia Keser will give two lectures on the subject of game theory. Both lectures take place in ZHG 002 (Platz der Göttinger Sieben 5, Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude):

  • 7-7.45 PM: Was Sie schon immer über Spieltheorie wissen wollten (What you always wanted to know about game theory)
  • 9-9.45 PM (with Assistant Professor Dr. Holger Rau): Wie rational sind Ihre Investitionsentscheidungen? (How rational are your investment decisions?)
