Interim professor in production and logistics starting in the 2018/19 winter term

Starting in the 2018/19 winter term, Prof. Dr. Matthias Klumpp will serve as an interim professor in production and logistics. Prof. Klumpp brings to the position, experience as a post-doc and head of the BMBF young researcher group of the University of Duisburg-Essen (Institute for Production and Industrial Information Management), lecturer and director of the FOM University of Applied Sciences (Institute for Logistics and Services) in Essen, as well as experience as a project leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics in Dortmund.

His international experiences include research stays at the Swiss AI Lab IDSIA (Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi sull'Intelligenza Artificiale), the IEBIS department of the University of Twente, and the Florence School of Regulation (Transport) of the European University Institute in Florence. Prof. Klumpp’s research areas include sustainability, efficiency measurement and digitalization in production, logistics, and supply chain management.

Recent publications have appeared in the Journal of Business Logistics, Sustainability, Review of Higher Education, and the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications.
