The use of barcoding to access landscape effects on phylogenetic and functional diversity

I am currently a Postdoc researcher at the department of Forest Genetics Institute and Forest Tree Breeding. I will collaborate with the project entitled “The use of barcoding to access landscape effects on phylogenetic and functional diversity” within the Collaborative Research Center 990 - Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems. My specific tasks comprise molecular data analyses (DNA sequencing, sequence editing and alignment, BLAST searches, archiving and depositing sequences in databases, phylogenetic reconstruction and statistical analyses) and publication of original scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals to contribute to the field of biology, conservation, and sustainability. Additionally, I will investigate the relationship between functional and phylogenetic diversity across land use systems; co-supervise technical staff and students; and assist with the organization and coordination of the project.
