Internationalization of curricula

The aim of this teaching project is the improvement of the learning situation for students in the field of forestry / wood in Göttingen, but also at other universities. The department of Wood Biology and Wood Products participates in a call of the umbrella organization of researching universities and institutes in the field of wood science and technology (InnovaWood). In addition to the creation of its own online module, the modules are exchanged with other partner institutes. Through the use of digital online teaching materials, students of the Georg-August-University will be given the opportunity to be taught and instructed by the best scientists in their field even without a stay abroad. At the same time they learn about particular local circumstances, which may require a different approach to a subject. The personal development of the students benefits from the internationalization and diversification as well. The improvement of the internationalization of the curriculum does have an important contribution not only in the field of language and qualification for a future profession, but especially in the area of the hidden curriculum. It’s a necessity to break socio-cultural limitations by providing internationalization in a local setting and therefore supplement the official curriculum with new, international content.
