- 1999-2005 Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Mannheim. Habilitation degree in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim
- 2005-2007 Full Professor of Finance at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management
- Since 2007 Full Professor of Finance at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen
- Research Fellow of the Centre for Financial Research (CFR) at the University of Cologne
