University President plants Tree of the Year

University President Prof. Ulrike Beisiegel planted a Wild Service Tree (Sorbus torminalis) in April 2011, accompanied by Dean Prof. Christoph Kleinn (left) and Director of Operations Volker Meng (center). This was the first visit of the newly appointed president to the Forest Botanical Garden, which is one among several important university collections: featuring 2,000 woody plant species, in the German-speaking region it is among the gardens richest in species numbers, according to Volker Meng. The compound on Faßberg hill is open to the public throughout the year.
