A warm welcome to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen!

As member of your faculty you are also a member of the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Sciences (GGG).

To enable you to profit from this affiliation we would like to ask you to fill out our “questionnaire ” and send it back to us within a week.

On behalf of the GGG we warmly welcome you to Göttingen. We are happy that you have chosen our university for your studies and further research, and we would like to wish you success in the coming months and years. In addition, we hope you will find the courage to consistently go to your limits thereby expanding them in every way possible.
During your stay here, the GGG will attend to your general needs with the Helpdesk providing a particular support for international PhD-students. Our various courses should not only be regarded as a compulsory part of your curriculum, but should also be seen as supportive of your academic work - in a truly interdisciplinary sense! One of the things on offer is the annual Methodological Week (“Methodenwoche”): Close cooperation between economic scientists, agricultural and forestry scientists as well as legal scholars and social scientists enables you to broaden your horizon and to place your own work into an interdisciplinary context.

Here is a list of websites that may help you getting used to your new surrounding.

If you have any questions regarding your Ph.D. or your stay here in Göttingen, please do not hesitate to contact us.
