The chair has gathered extensive experiences in policy advice and the building of cooperation with political stakeholders on all state-levels. International cooperation consists in playing a leading role in research networks, for example in the foundation of the international scientific journal “Forest Policy & Economics” or the cooperation with the IUFRO task force “Forest Policy in countries with economics in transition”, which lead to international conferences in Eastern Europe up to two times a year. Prof. Dr. Max Krott is a member of the scientific advisory board of the European Forest Institute. Close relationships exist and common research projects are done with forest policy institutes in Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, etc.
