Learning Objectives


Overall goals:


  • Provide an overview about the recent and diverse phenomena of digitalizing business environments, related managerial challenges and solution concepts.
  • Provide multiple perspectives by an integrative and innovative lecture-design comprising guest-lectures from scholars and guest-talks from managers from diverse contexts.



More specifically, students get to know:


  • The characteristics of digital resources and associated innovations as well as related managerial concepts.
  • The changes in customer preferences induced by digitalization as well as appropriate response measures.
  • The changes for the role of IT in organizations induced by digitalization.
  • The differences between classic IT-management and the requirements for a modern management of digital ressources.
  • The societal underpinnings of recent phenomena of digitalization.
  • Insights about most recent research in the fields of Digital Innovation, Digital Business Strategy and Digital Transformation.
