Master of Arts in Euroculture

Euroculture is an interdisciplinary and international Master’s programme offered together with another seven renowned European partner-universities, where five disciplines are enlisted: political science, history, philology, theology and law.

The Euroculture Master’s programme imparts knowledge about the history of Europe and of its institutions, and also about the debate over the European culture. The students learn to critically reflect upon the process of European integration. Moreover, special Euro-Competence workshops ensures qualifications which open career perspectives on a labour market increasingly oriented towards Europe. After three semesters, the interdisciplinary programme ends with conferring the title of Master of Euroculture.

The Faculty of Theology is one of the founding faculties of the programme. Member of the examining board is Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Martin Tamcke, who actually represents the Faculty within the programme.
In Göttingen, in the field of theology, students can write appropriate Master theses. The corresponding examination office is in the Faculty of Social Sciences. The second examiner of the theses must be chosen from one of the European partner universities of Groningen, Uppsala, San Sebastian, Udine, Strasbourg, Cracow or Olomouc. And vice versa, Göttingen provides the second corrector for the Master theses coming from these universities, when the students spend their semester abroad in Göttingen.

This international programme, supported with ERASMUS MUNDUS funds, is carried out in English at each of the European universities mentioned above, yet supplementary courses could also be hold in the language of each particular country participating in the programme.
