Enrolment in four steps

This description is for enrolment in Bachelor's programmes with open admission for applicants from the EU and EEA as well as citizens of a foreign country with German entitlement to university admission (e.g. Abitur). If you are not sure whether the degree programme you want to study has open admission, please go back to the application check.

You find the degree programmes, for which you can enrol directly (e. g. without prior application) into the summer semester, here.

Please note the dates and deadlines and also the prescribed subject combinations for the teaching profile (at the Gymnasium)


Data entry in the Internet
Using our online form (data entry) you can apply for enrolment at the University of Göttingen.

Transfer of semester fees
After you have entered your data, please transfer the semester fees to the University. Your enrolment can only be processed after we have received your payment. Please make sure to state your registration number and name in your transfer! You will not receive a letter of admission, since you will have the university place for certain after transferring the semester fees and sending in your documents for enrolment (see 3rd step).

Sending in your documents by mail
Likewise after having entered your data, you will receive the registration number of your application and a form to print out that contains the documents you must then send to the University by mail.

Confirmation from the University
You will automatically receive a confirmation (preliminary student identification, enrolment certificate etc.) by mail.

Note: There are special language requirements for admission to the programmes for English Studies and Romance Studies
