At the end of every summer and winter semester, the final degrees are given to the graduates during an official celebration in the old auditorium of the University of Göttingen located at the Wilhelmsplatz. In addition to ceremonial speeches given by representatives of the Faculty and graduates, handing over degrees as well as musical accompaniment, the best graduates in the subjects Business, Economics, Business and Human Resource Education and Business Information Systems are awarded the Florenz Sartorius Prize. Once a year (within the framework of the celebration in Spring), this prize is also awarded to the best Ph.D. graduates of the Departments of Business Administration and Economics. Recipients each receive 1.000 Euro funded by the Sartorius AG from Göttingen. The company is an internationally leading provider of laboratory and process technology in the segments of biotechnology and mechatronics.

In addition, the Festo Prize for institutes of higher education for „Innovations in Information Processing“ is given for an excellent final thesis in the subject of Business Information Systems. Winners will receive 1.500 Euro. The prize for students in the Faculty of Economic Sciences is given by Festo, the globally operating company for automation technology.

Upcoming graduation ceremony:
The celebration for the graduates of the winter semester 2011/ 2012 took place on Friday, April 27, 2012 in the old auditorium of the University located at the Wilhelmsplatz. The celebration for the graduates of the summer semester 2012 will take place in October.
