Dr. Ingrid Vreja

Project Manager at Fast Track Diagnostics S.à.r.l., a Siemens Healthineers Company, in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg

Ingrid Vreja obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bucharest, Romania. For her Master studies she moved to Germany, where she received a scholarship from the International Max Planck Research School Programme in Molecular Biology at the University of Göttingen. She then continued her studies in the group of Professor Silvio Rizzoli, at the Institute of Neuro- and Sensory Physiology, University Medical Center Göttingen. Here she obtained her PhD in molecular and cell biology, with focus on super-resolution imaging of proteins tagged with unnatural amino acids. After PhD, Ingrid embarked on traineeships at the European Commission (DG SANTE, Belgium, Brussels) and at the European Medicines Agency (London, UK) before joining Bayer as a postdoctoral researcher in January 2017, where she used super-resolution imaging to investigate the mode-of-action of various drugs and active ingredients. Since September 2018, Ingrid works as a project manager at Siemens Healthineers, Fast Track Diagnostics, a company located in Luxembourg. She enjoys working in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment, across diverse teams and continents. She is passionate in her quest to help create products that provide faster and more reliable diagnostic options for patients around the world.
Ingrid is married and, together with her husband, she likes discovering new countries as a backpacker. In her free time, she also enjoys reading or listening to audiobooks and embroidering. Ingrid is very passionate about gender equality, fair pay for interns and trainees as well as environmental protection.
