Institute

The Institute for Digital Humanities was established on 30 April 2018 on the Faculty of Humanities on the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and splits in the departments “Text and Language” and “Image and Object”. It serves the aim to coordinate, implement and develop the research and teaching activities in the field of Digital Humanities.

The Institute for Digital Humanities differentiates from the Göttingen Centre for Digital Humanities (GCDH) by having only inner faculty’s duties in research and teaching as institute of the Faculty of Humanities while the GCDH as interdisciplinary universitary centre at Göttingen Campus with a wide range of digital working scientists from the humanities and social sciences offers a forum for scientific interchange and coordinates the university-wide initiatives in the Digital Humanities.
