Seminar: International Management Research

This is a seminar for master students. In this seminar, students should independently and systematically work on a current topic in the field of international management. Students are required to select one topic and to prepare a research paper under the guidance of the instructor and their peers. Empirical papers are highly encouraged.

This seminar is an inter-disciplinary examination of the international dimensions of management. The course content includes topics such as cross-cultural management, the international transfer of Management Practices within MNCs, and global aspects of leadership, motivation, and globalization challenges.

Course Objectives

The course aims to:
  • Prepare the students for the research process of writing a master thesis
  • Understand the nature of research in international management and its relationship with research in other disciplines
  • Critically understand and evaluate the different research paradigms existing in the field of international management
  • Produce a research proposal meeting the key epistemological and methodological standards
