Organisation of the Key Competence Area: Information for Master's Students

The Master's programme is divided into three areas:
- Subject studies, if applicable with module package(s) (78 C),
- key competences (12 C, except for Master's programmes in Intercultural German Studies) and
- written thesis (30 C)

Key competences serve to acquire additional qualifications and also include the option of integrating internships and voluntary work into your studies.

Recommendations for the Acquisition of Key Competences in the Course of Studies
In the Master's programme, competences relevant to the profession as well as competences for career entry are particularly important. These may include courses on networking, leadership skills or didactics and course planning, as well as practical preparation for job application processes and personnel selection procedures.
In the study and examination regulations for your subject you will find further recommendations for the choice of key competences. You can find these on the following website (after selecting the subject in the chapter 'Structure of Studies' under 'Regulations').

IMPORTANT:
In the area of key competences, only modules that are designated as such can be taken.
