Project Seminar Foundation Management

Prof. Dr. Jörg Lahner

Current information:
Registration takes place exclusively via the professorship!

Until 31 March of the respective semester exclusively via the secretary's office: Tina Färber (by email: organisation@wiwi.uni-goettingen.de)

Here you can find the course in eCampus with information on participation requirements and the examination performance.

The "Project seminar on start-up management" event initially imparts essential knowledge for the planning and management of a company start-up in six lectures.
The structure and content of a business plan are presented and discussed, and the students are also made familiar with the necessary tools and techniques for creating a concept.

In a second part of the event, the students then develop their own business plans. The supervision takes place in presence.
The business plans are then presented and discussed in plenary sessions over the course of two block event days; attendance is compulsory.

Finally, the business plans will be presented and discussed in the plenum during two block event days. If the current situation does not allow a face-to-face event, the block seminar will be offered as an interactive webinar. Exact information is shared by Prof. Dr. Lahner in the event.

Organizational matters:
Registration for this takes place every year by 31 March (details can be found in the current semester under Dates in the E-Campus). Please register ONLY by email to organisation@wiwi.uni-goettingen.de (Tina Färber) with the current grade statement from the examination office.
Participants (written confirmation will be sent in advance to each participant by the secretary's office) only register in FLEXNOW after confirmation has been received! There is a fixed deadline for registration in Flexnow, which will be communicated in writing. Subsequent registration is therefore not possible.

If not all registrations of a ranking group can be considered, the subject semester will decide. Students in higher semesters are to be considered before students in lower semesters. If there is a tie between applicants in this case as well, the decision will be made by lot. Students who have applied in vain so far will be given preference (please let us know)!

Background information:

Experience with company and business start-ups shows that a lot depends on a successful start: the foundations for realizing the dream of successful self-employment are laid at the very beginning of the planning. It is important not to give away any potential right from the start and to develop a promising concept.

In the first part, the event imparts essential knowledge for planning and managing a company start-up. You will get to know the structure and content of a business plan and will be made familiar with the necessary tools and techniques for creating a concept.

In a second part of the event, you will then develop your own business plans, which you will present and discuss in the plenary session over two block event days (attendance is mandatory!).

6 credits are awarded. Prof Dr Jörg Lahner, external lecturer, teaches and assesses this course. Maximum of 20 participants.

This module will be offered every semester from winter semester 23/24! (In the winter semester by Prof. Dr Matthias Schulz and in the summer semester by Prof. Dr Jörg Lahner).
