All participants were strongly requested to make their travel arrangements and to book their accomodation as soon as possible.

Arrival/departure
Please note that the summer school starts on Monday (July 27, 2015) early morning and runs until Friday evening. Consequently we expect you (and strongly recommend) to make your travel arrangements accordingly. In particular you should arrive in Göttingen on Sunday (July 26, 2015) at the latest.

Location
The event took place at the Mathematical Institute at the Georg-August-University: travel directions.

Non-EU-citizens
Please check visa/entry requirements, cf. http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/EN/EinreiseUndAufenthalt/Visabestimmungen_node.html or contact the nearest mission of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Travel directions
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Hannover Airport (HAJ) both feature excellent train connections to Göttingen. Travel directions to the Mathematics Institute can be found here. We definitely do not recommend to book flights via Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) because of the bad connection to the public transportation network and Berlin (BER/TXL/SXF) because of the open problems coming with the planned airport move. For travel connections within Germany consult www.qixxit.de or www.bahn.de.

Hostels

  • Hostel 37 is a good and cheap option (single room 35 Euro per night; 4-bed and 6-bed rooms at a cheaper rate)
  • Göttingen Youth Hostel (32,22 Euro per night, membership of Hostelling International or National Youth Hostel Association required) is another option, reservations can be made through Hostelling International.

Hotels
Accomodation in a hotel can be booked via the website of the Göttingen Tourist Office. Since the booking robot might give you hotels in the outskirts of Göttingen, make sure that the address in fact is Göttingen (but not "Adelebsen" or "Ebergötzen" and the like). Prices per night range between 40 Euro per night and infinity. The following hotels charge a price at the lower end of this interval:

Further options are Clarion Parkhotel, Hotel Schweizer Hof und Hotel Central. If nothing else works, then Intercede Guest rooms might be an option (simple, basic accommodation, no-frills, no catering, shared kitchen).

Holiday Appartments
are an excellent option and can be directly booked via the website of the Göttingen Tourist Office.

University Guest House
Unfortunately fully booked - no accomocation available.

Lunch / Zentralmensa
Lunch (and diner) at very affordable prices (3-4 Euro per meal) can be taken in one of the students' canteens of the Göttingen students union ('Studentenwerk'). The nearest one, the 'Zentralmensa', is within walking distance (15 minutes). Upon Check-In, students participating in the summer school will receive a certificate so that they have to pay the same low prices as Göttingen students (instead of the higher prices for visitors). In the coffee breaks coffee/tea/cookies will be served (for free).

WLAN/Internet
Computers with internet access will be available as well WiFi access via participants' personal laptops.
