Research in Northern Mongolia

The Department of Conservation Biology at the Centre for Nature Conservation runs a research station 250 km north of Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator, in the transition zone between the Siberian Taiga and dry mountain steppe. This station is one of the research facilities of the Goettingen Centre for Biodiversity and Ecology and provides an ideal means of botanical, zoological, limnological and forest ecology research in pristine forest and steppe ecosystems. This webpage informs on the environment in which the station operates and briefly describes research issues dealt with by scientists working there.
