Studying in Göttingen

Welcome to the agricultural faculty of the Georg-August-University, Goettingen.

Every year we welcome about 200 international students from 40 to 50 countries as full-time or exchange students, making up around 12% of our student body!

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences offers the following German-language programs:

  • We also offer the following courses in English:



    For all courses of study, a profound knowledge of the teaching language is required. For those studying courses taught in English, proof of language skills is required in the form of a language certificate.

    Full-time students: The faculty is pleased to receive applications from international students who meet the admission requirements. Applications are free of charge and directly accessible via the application portal of the study program. Applications are ranked and the most suitable candidates receive a place.

    Exchange students: The university has exchange agreements with various universities worldwide. Only students from universities with which either the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences or the Georg-August University, Göttingen have an agreement can be admitted for one or two semesters as exchange students.

    Students can apply for a semester abroad through various programs:

    • Erasmus Plus (worldwide exchange)
    • Exchange agreements of Göttingen International
    • Exchange agreements of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences
