The first summer school of the University of Goettingen and the University of São Paulo focuses on International Investment Law, in particular on the relationship between Brazil and Germany, as well as exploring controversial issues such as conflicts of rights and the role of International Customary Law in International Investment Law. The summer school will be comprised of a compulsory program in which mainstream legal scholars present on cutting-edge topics of International Investment Law. There will also be an additional optional program in which postdoctoral and doctoral scholars have the opportunity to present their research through a dynamic methodology. The aim of the summer school is to broaden the participants’ knowledge about International Investment Law and provide participants with the opportunity to network with leading international legal scholars and practitioners. Certificates of attendance will be provided to participants who attend all the sessions of the compulsory program upon completion of the summer school.
