Tenure Track Programme

The University of Göttingen´s Participation in the Government & Federal States Programme on the Promotion of Early Career Researchers (Tenure Track Programme)

In the framework of the Government & Federal States Programme on the Support of Early Career Researchers, there have been 20 tenure track professorships launched by the University of Göttingen within this first funding period. As a privately funded corporation, the University of Göttingen had already filled 51 professorship positions through tenure track since 2004. "Our successful application has convinced us to go further with the systematic support of early career researchers who are at various career stages and have diverse career goals", said Prof. Beisiegel. In 2015, the University of Göttingen adopted a comprehensive concept for the support of early career researchers in order to present career paths in science in an improved and transparent way. The concept involves the development of the "Section HR Development" for scientific staff. The concept also includes the development of a clear structure for Personnel and the design of framework conditions for positions. Another feature is new offerings for training as well as support and advice with a special focus on improving work-life balance. Further questions and feedback are welcomed by the Head of HR development who is the administrative coordinator of these plans.
