Types of event

Regular events
To promote scholarly exchange in the field of Gender Studies and facilitate the instigation of potential research cooperations, the GCG regularly hosts three types of events::

1) Symposia
2) Guest lectures
3) Genderlabor

The primary focus of the symposia is the discussion of innovative current theoretical and methodological research fields and concepts of international Gender Studies. They also provide a framework for discussing current issues regarding gender and equality politics. They are to be held under the aegis of members of the GCG.
Through the invitation of internationally renowned scholars, the guest lectures promote the international exchange of knowledge in Gender Studies at the Göttingen location.

Cooperation and endorsements
In addition to the regularly scheduled events, the GCG promotes further events and activities concerning Gender Studies on a regional and nationwide level. The internal cooperation at the University of Göttingen primarily involves the cooperation with the members' individual faculties and institutes, but also extends to interfaculty institutions and centres such as the Equal Opportunities Office and the office for Diversity Management. Further cooperation is maintained with the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute and the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS).

By providing means and infrastructure for events (such as lecture series and workshops) organised by individual institutes/chairs and/or student initiatives, the GCG is working towards generally expanding and deepening subject areas and perspectives of Gender Studies in Göttingen.
