Vice-President Prof. Dr. Ulf Diederichsen

Dr. Ulf Diederichsen, Professor of Chemistry, has been Vice-President of the University of Göttingen since September 2015. On 13 May 2015, he was elected by the Senate of the University for a term running until 31 August 2017. The University Foundation Committee has confirmed his election. Within the university's management, Professor Ulf Diederichsen is responsible for the Faculty of Biology and Psychology, the Faculty of Physics as well as for the research sector.

Ulf Diederichsen, born in 1963, majored in chemistry at the University of Freiburg and, in 1993, was awarded a doctoral degree by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. In 1999, he earned his post-doctoral degree at the Technische Universität München [Technical University of Munich]. Research fellowships took him twice to the USA where he worked at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1993 to 1994 and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2000. Since April 2001, Professor Diederichsen has been Chair of the Institute of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry at Göttingen University, having served as Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry in Göttingen from 2005 to 2007.
